It seemed like only yesterday that we wrapped up Campus Unlimited: Open Design Ideas Competition for Christchurch! Our judges are beavering away going through the high-quality entries that were submitted for this timely ideas challenge.
Fortunately, our young generation is still fortunate enough to be supported by legendary figures like Tony Watkins, one of the founders of International Architects Designers and Planners for Social Responsibility (ARC-PEACE), initiator of Agenda 21, and Peaceful Cities concept at the UN Habitat II Conference in Istanbul in 1996.
We're kicking off 2012 with his powerful words of encouragement:

Campus Unlimited: International Design Ideas Competition
The tragic earthquake in Christchurch earlier this year rendered the downtown inoperable. With 40% of building in the central business district set for demolition the face of the city will be changed forever. At the heart of the city lay the campus of the Unlimited Paenga Tawhiti(UPT).
Thanks to the generous support of Freerange Press - and a handful of creative co-operatives headed by Barnaby Bennett - we have a neat publication containing compelling, informative, if sometimes quirky, anecdotes about the Christchurch earthquake, straight from the source: local Canterburians.
Here is the link to the review from Cross Section: New Zealand Institute of Architect's publication, and what John had to say about the neat little book:
If you would like to get involved in any of the projects mentioned below, just contact us and we will see you at our next meeting!
